Robert "Bob" Martin Burrows, Jr.

Robert Martin Burrows Jr., age 75, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at Greenfield Healthcare Center. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 29, 1949, to Robert and Jewell (Abel) Burrows. Bob graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in 1967. He married Mary Lynn Stevens on February 11, 2008, in Greenfield, Indiana. He served in the US Army as a Morse Code Interceptor and Green Beret from 1967 to 1971 and received an honorable discharge.

He was an Indiana State Policeman until his retirement due to his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. He then became an Insurance Adjustor for Grange Insurance Company out of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church on East 10th St. in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also a volunteer tutor for the Greenfield Learning Center in Greenfield, Indiana. Bob was a gun enthusiast and collector.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Burrows of Greenfield; daughter, Laura Shaw (Jim); step-children, Jessica Stevens Stapleton (Mike), Ben Stevens (Leslie), and Katie Stevens North (Steven); grandchildren, Vada, Iris, and Lily Shaw, Evelyn and Margaret Alvarez, Wyatt and Mason Stapleton, Madison and Olivia Stevens, and Reagan North; and beloved pet, Dharma Jewell. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Reid Morgan Burrows.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, Indiana.
